Dear all concerned animal owners and breeders,
As you know, we were alerted yesterday that the names of 'HomeAgain' and 'Schering Plough' were listed on the HSUS website as Corporate Sponsors. We have regular conference calls with HomeAgain and, as their representative in the pet industry, we share with them events, challenges and happenings in our market.
When we were notified that HomeAgain's name appeared on the HSUS Sponsorship page, we immediately contacted the Director by phone and email. Over the next 24 hours, HomeAgain contacted HSUS and had their name removed from the Corporate Sponsor list.
As discussed previously, HomeAgain's involvement with HSUS is limited to participation in the Animal Care Expo conference attended by shelter directors, veterinarians and staff. The conference is attended by all major US microchipping and pet recovery service providers as a means for providing education and product information to attendees.
We are happy to forward our letter and the response from HomeAgain on this issue. Both will be sent to you today. We do hope that our industry will thank them and support them for taking steps to rectify this situation.
We, at Microchip ID Systems, do commend and thank HomeAgain for their attentiveness. Their quick action has corrected and clarified their position. HomeAgain is a true leader in the business of getting lost pets safely back to their owners. As we all know, breeders who provide those pets want the same thing.
All is well and together we must work to continue to amplify the high standards set by responsible pet breeders and owners.
